Often translated quickly as control or restraint (yama) of energy (prana), a deeper look at pranayama reveals a richer definition of “to expand the dimensions (ayama) of your life force (pran)”. In this workshop we will begin to explore the breath first from an anatomical view but also see how this begins to weave an energetic poetry through the tapestry of our asana and life. Students will begin to experience their breath as both a metaphor as well as a practical and profound tool to return to our balanced and blissful state.
