We all have had the experience of setting hopeful New Year’s Resolutions only to then feel just a few short months later dejected when they fail to take hold in our lives. This is often because they are made with a part of the mind that is easily influenced, confused by our ego and patterns and starts from the mistaken assumption that who you are -is not good enough.
The Yoga tradition offers us a refreshing alternative to the New Year’s resolution- the practice of Sankalpa or a vow to our highest self. It begins with the radical premise that you are already good enough and have what you need to fulfil your life’s Dharma- you just need to weed out the field of the mind, focus and channel that Divine energy within.
Join us for a brief talk on the layers of the mind from a Yoga perspective, a journalling exercise to help unearth a powerful Sankalpa and then enjoy a long Yoga Nidra practice (guided meditation done in a resting position) to help plant these seeds in the most fertile soil.
All are welcome.
